dave Benoit
President & CEO
With over 30 years of trading experience, Dave is a master at avoiding slippage and delivering value for his customers. He always seeks the exact trading level for complex option strategies, often by “covering” these strategies against outright futures at prices advantageous to the customer. This allows Dave to get inside of quoted markets, find the edge and deliver that edge to the customer. “Every trade is a story. Our job is to understand the plot and then tell that story so our customer can see the value we provide.” Dave is a graduate of Iowa State University where he was a four-year letter winner starting offensive lineman. Prior to co-founding Weatherhelm, he worked as a floor broker and AP for various houses including RJ O’Brien, Countrywide, and TJM. When not trading, he enjoys golf, cycling and spending time with his grandkids.J. Clark Kastner
Managing Director
Clark co-founded Weatherhelm Futures in 2022 with a vision of combining old-time values with cutting edge technology. Prior to founding Weatherhelm, Clark was an institutional interest rate derivatives trader and portfolio manager for various firms in New York, Greenwich, Bermuda and London. It was in this capacity that Clark traded with Dave as his primary futures broker for over a decade- witnessing first-hand the value that Benoit delivers for clients. Clark brings that customer/trader perspective to the firm. In addition to trading, Clark served as the Vice Chairman of the Swaps and Derivatives Market Association (SDMA), authoring key provisions of the Derivatives Title of the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform Act. In this role, he advised the SEC and CFTC and was called upon to testify as an expert in derivatives. Clark received an MSc (hons.) in Finance from the London School of Economics and an AB cum laude in Government from Harvard University. At Harvard, Clark was the coxswain of the varsity heavyweight crew. Still an avid waterman, Clark now enjoys sailing with his wife and four children.Jake Wisby
Senior Vice President
Jake has over 25 years of experience in financial markets, having worked on the trading floors of both the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Chicago Board of Trade. Jake graduated cum laude with a BBA in Finance from Loyola University, and has been a CFA charterholder since 2014. When away from the trading desk Jake enjoys golfing and going for hikes with his wife and their three dogs, and likes to keep busy with animal rescue volunteer work.Ryan Benoit
vice president
Ryan began working alongside his father at the Chicago Board of Trade in 2018, gained experience on the floor and made the transition to “upstairs” trading. A graduate of McHenry County college and Loyola University, Ryan brings his youthful enthusiasm and love of new technology to the team, representing the next generation of trading. When not trading, Ryan enjoys BBQ, golf, boating and spending time with his young nephews. Copyright © 2024 Weatherhelm Futures, LLC.
